From childhood friendship to kitchen table idea and from brand strategy to participant of a prestigious design fair. We take you through the brand story of the new Dutch design label ØDE.

 

Launching a new design label

Just do it, bring a new label into a pretty saturated market. No sooner said than done. The desire from founders Emily, Rolf and Rob had been brewing under the surface for a long time. In early 2021, they tied the knot and joined forces with our team.

With ØDE, they set the tone for a new design label for high-quality tables. As a brand where connection is central, just as a table itself is central to all social events in every generation. In short, an object that in many households is an important unifying factor in everything that takes place around it.

 

From concepting to full-fledged brand book

Branding & concepting | Multiple marketing teams were involved in the development of ØDE. A development that began with a thorough analysis for a solid brand foundation. Who are you and what do you want to portray? Why do we do what we do? How do we do it? And what is the end result? Important questions to get to the core of the identity.

This was followed by several sessions to concretely delineate the brand strategy. The result was a brand book in which the brand identity was completely worked out. What does it contain? First of all, everything about ØDE's identity and origins, such as the brand story, brand values, mission and vision. The logo, typography, use of color and image guidelines are also covered in the brandbook.

The logo | An important feature for ØDE is its history, as it works with crafts dating back to the 18th century. Something that - besides connection - plays a central role in the whole brand story. This connection is also evident in the logo. A sleek monogram that was the starting point for the entire branding process.

Web design

Web design | The brand book served as the starting point for the web design. All brand values, fonts, colors and other guidelines important to ØDE are reflected in it.

A new brand in (moving) pictures

That one image says more than a thousand words is well known. That is why we chose to package the story of ØDE in a number of videos. In these, the founders and designers speak separately from one another.

Each of them was given space to share their story so that we could then create different versions of it. Each version served a different purpose, such as an expanded version for the website and shorter versions for social media posts.

 

Social media activation to reach target audience

Name recognition | A new design label not only requires a creative branding and web project. The name an sich must also come to life among the public, including the intended target audience. Setting up social media channels is therefore a necessary must to reach them online.

Social media campaigns | To work on brand awareness, all social channels (Instagram, LinkedIn and Facebook) were and are provided with content that fits the brand, both in images and text. By means of campaigns aimed at the (inter)national target group, we are working on increasing ØDE Design's profile as a newcomer in the field of high-end Dutch design labels.
